Value of Life

As I grew up, I was bothered by the cause of death. How someone’s life comes to  an end. From a world full of joy, ambitions, hopes and dreams, to leaving the world like it never was.

I was, and still am, bothered by the sudden death of some people; the death of young people.

What really confuses me is, how life continues after the death of someone. Why life doesn’t cry for the death of anyone? Is it enough to stand just for a minute as mourn of his death, like some communities do? What is he going to gain in his grave by these things?

I knew the answer  for sure, I know this is life and this is how it’s meant to be. If people didn’t forget about the death of their loved ones, life ‘ll never be the same, it’ll always be disturbed!

In the same time that answer wasn’t enough, it doesn’t justify the pain that dead ones go through by leaving this life, as well as their families and loved ones.

God didn’t create us in vain, we were made for the everlasting eternity; And our world, it’s only a stage in order to reach the eternal life.

What is the value of any pleasure in this world? As long as they are threatened by the risk of death, which takes the hopes, wishes, successes of the person away? Which takes the cute boy and a beautiful girl from the hands of their parents, which takes the bride on her wedding night from the arms of her husband; All of that without permission or prior warning!

There is nothing that healed that question in me, but belief in The Day of Resurrection, and that this separation is determination of the meeting, and that this alienation is preparation for the return of mankind, and that this death is a short break between two lives; The first one:  This short life.

Doesn’t life sound pointless, if we’re just living these years then we die like it never was?? Does it sound unfair to some people who have to fight for living?

What’s the point of suffering? Of being a good person, who’s struggling and suffering, or getting tired from studying, working and other difficulties that have to be faced in life, while you can simply steal or cheat?! What makes it worth it in the end?

God didn’t create us in vain, we were made for the everlasting eternity; And our world, it’s only a stage in order to reach the eternal life. It does not matter if this life is long or short, soft or miserable; the real life is the eternal, where people will get rewarded for what they made in their lives. Just like what God said in the great Qur’an, {then did you think that we created you uselessly and that to us you would not be returned } Al Moumenon 115.

What do you think?
