Meet My New Friend, Nature.

What do you think of when you hear the word Nature? Do you think of plants? Or do you think of clouds? To be precise, Nature is the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, and the landscape. Nowadays, it’s very sad to say that the world has been neglecting nature, despite it being one of the most important things we need in order to survive. We need to educate the people around us to do no harm to Nature, so they can actually understand why it’s important. We’ll get to those points later, after we discuss a bit of the little things people do, that are actually very harmful.

1- Are you one of those people who just throw that bag of chips on the floor? Or are you one of those smokers who throw their cigarette from the window of the car? Whatever you throw, is always harmful to the plants and animals in our environment. Leave a plastic bag in your car to throw all your garbage in, and when you reach home, throw the plastic bag in the garbage bin. That way, you won’t harm your environment, or dirty your car. This isn’t only about “harming” nature, but it also harms the way your country looks. In order to have a clean, healthy country to live in, we have to start with ourselves

2- Plants are a huge part of nature, and our daily lives. It’s also a fact that plants are living things with actual feelings. Always try to take care of them the best way you can. Water the plants that are in your house, and treat them with care. When your playing soccer outside, try not to step on the flowers beside you. Not only would you kill the plants, but you’d also leave them looking ugly, which is always not a pretty thing.

Don’t think of nature as a nuisance, but as a friend. The beautiful plants are our friends. The kind animals are our friends. The air, the water, the food..

3- Animals are also included in our nature. Animals are very important in our lives. Animals can be used to play with, cuddle, or even use as a guard. It’s important to take care of them, because not only is that human, but it’s also what our religion asks us to do. I know there are a lot of stray animals in Libya. One way to help is maybe you can find a house for them. Start an animal adoption center with your friends, but make sure to have them taken to a vet to make sure that their safe and clean.

4- We need to manage our water properly. There are many people out there who are dying with no water, yet here we are, literally wasting it like it has no value what so ever. We will be punished, maybe not by humans, but surely by God. Water is something we are blessed to have, and we need to thank God everyday for this blessing. If you see the water running, close it! If you’re making wudu, don’t waste a lot of water into it. Try to take fast showers and not hot baths! Not only will you have time to do other things, but you’ll also be saving our water!

5- The pollution is a disaster. A lot of pollution comes from companies, cars, and even spray products. We might not be able to do anything about the companies, but there are many great ways to reduce pollution that comes out from cars! If the weather is good, why not take your bike to wherever your going? Not only will you be helping the nature, but it’s also a great way to get your body moving and exercise! If you don’t have a bike, you can take a walk. If the weather is awful, try carpooling! You say you don’t know what carpooling is? Basically, Carpooling is the sharing of car journeys so that more than one person travels in a car. Many people have tried it, and it’s a great way to help!

The points above are just the basics of the problems we are facing. These are just a wake up call of what’s happening to the nature that’s surrounding us. There are also other ways than stated above to help, so you can always get yourself more educated on how! You can get your friends and start a cleaning campaign! Encourage your family members to start recycling! You can also start educating the people around you about the problems our nature faces. Don’t think of nature as a nuisance, but as a friend. The beautiful plants are our friends. The kind animals are our friends. The air, the water, the food, they are all something we live with day by day. Nature is our way of surviving, and if the humans don’t take care of it, who will? Everything can be achieved, but don’t say that you’re not going to make a difference, because you are.

What do you think?
