We’re too busy in our lives doing things that we don’t want and for things that we don’t need. Why don’t we think about time? How it keeps moving and flowing forward forever, from seconds into minutes into days to years. It’s running continuously, and we’re all just going along as fast as we can to keep moving with it.
The most significant feature of time is its value. Its value is immeasurable and its power is unimaginable. A minute is enough to win a game. A moment can make a difference between life and death. A second can take everything you have from you. A moment can make you the richest person on the planet.
At some point in our lives, we find ourselves lost and we realize that we’re running out of time. We look back and try to find where was it, when we became so busy? Why we didn’t even notice our parents growing old, our school days are gone! Our siblings now live abroad and why we don’t see our friends anymore. But regretting won’t do any good because time once gone, never comes back. What was yesterday is not today. What is today will not be tomorrow. Yesterday is gone. Today is and tomorrow is yet to come. Yet time is said to have no holidays. It exists always.
We cannot stop time, but we can use it doing things that really mean something. We can do something that will make someone smile, do something that can leave a mark on someone’s heart. Things for what someone will remember you. We have no Idea what our little deeds of random kindness can do like stopping your car and letting the children cross the road or helping someone carrying a load. It won’t take more time than what you’d waste listening to a song but it’ll definitely mean a lot to someone who you’ve helped.
Every minute brings with it hundreds of opportunities. Every moment is full of ‘chances’. Therefore, we must not allow such precious time to slip away. If we do so, we allow those golden opportunities and chances to slip away too. To know the real value of one day, ask the daily wage worker, and the value of a second, ask the person who escaped an accident.
This all might seem not that interesting to you as maybe you can afford to waste time, maybe you have a tomorrow, maybe for you there are a thousands of tomorrows, or three thousands or ten, enough to play with it, roll in it, do whatever you want to, Let it slide like sand through your fingers. Enough time that you can waste it.
But for some of us it is just today. And the truth is, you can never really know…
