Finally the Libyan elections are knocking on the door. As for many believed the day will never come. Libyans now can exercise a fundamental right of choosing their own representatives.
Democracy demands from people, a high level of intelligence, awareness, self-restraint, vigilance and all time devotion and active participation in the affairs of the State.
Citizens must have a clear understanding of the political system he/she is operating in. Voting a candidate must not be based on relationships, tribes or on any influence by persuasion. We must always elect a person who is better collectively for the nation’s interest.
Votes cast for personal and vested interests destroy the essence of democracy and the voter himself has to suffer ultimately.
