Back to School, Not so Cool?

School is just around the corner, and you’re probably pretty bummed out. No more staying up all night, sleeping over at a friend’s house, or just lying on the couch and watching TV. Those things seem pretty awesome if you compare it to studying, but that’s what we should think about! It’s time we stop acting lazy. It’s time to seek knowledge, and actually enjoy it.

We wonder how that girl in class just seems to always ace that test or quiz, but believe it or not, it’s all about organization. It’s that simple! Follow the steps below, and you’ll start climbing the ladder of success, and might actually enjoy it!

Keep an Agenda: That’s the first step to anything organized. Look for a small notebook, or go buy yourself a daily planner. It can be anything, as long as you can take it with you. That’s where you’ll write down everything related to school. Put it in your school bag, and take it with you everyday!

Set a Goal: Whenever a person starts anything, they have to set a goal. Weather you want to lose that amount of weight, or save up a certain amount of money for a car. It all starts with setting a goal. Even in school, you have to set a goal for yourself. Lets say that last year you got an average of 80, and your goal for this year is an 85. Write your goal in your agenda, and aim for it.

Manage your Time: Not a lot of people realize how precious time is. Time helps you keep a balanced life. For example, if you get back from school at 2 o’clock, and don’t feel like studying, take a break. Give yourself an hour of free time. After an hour, do your homework. The best way to get your schoolwork done is to sit in your room with nothing beside you that leads to distraction.

Never leave it for Tomorrow: That’s the worst thing that any student can do. Never leave an assignment or homework for tomorrow, just because you don’t feel like doing it today. Write down what you plan to study for everyday in your agenda, and don’t postpone anything for later. Get things done when you can, and have fun later.

Don’t stress: If you ever feel like you can’t take it anymore, or you feel like you’re too stressed, then give yourself a break. Don’t hate studying because you always feel tired. When you need sleep, sleep! Don’t overwork yourself, and just balance your school life with your life at home, and everything will turn out great!

Getting back to school doesn’t mean you can’t do the fun things you used to do. It’s important to have fun along with school. If you feel like you’re improving, and walking in the direction of your goal, celebrate! It’s important to reward yourself for the work you’ve done, and keep it up!
